Caldier sponsors South Kitsap High School students as pages in state House
South Kitsap High School students Trey Zawlocki and Katelynn Harmon recently traveled to Olympia to serve as pages in the Washington State House of Representatives. They were sponsored by their 26th District Rep. Michelle Caldier, R-Port Orchard.
Trey is active in the Boy Scouts, holding the rank of Life Scout, and soon hopes to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. Katelynn is in 4-H, and has a keen interest in photography.
During their week serving in the House Page Program, they delivered messages and documents to legislators and staff, and attended page school every day to understand the inner workings of the Legislature.
“It was an honor to sponsor Trey and Katelynn as pages in the state House,” said Caldier. “I admire their work ethic and their commitment to becoming leaders in their communities. I hope they enjoyed their time here at the Capitol, and I wish them the best of luck in all their future endeavors.”
To become a page, applicants must have a legislative sponsor, be between the ages of 14 and 16, and obtain written permission from their parents and school. Pages earn $35 per day while serving in the program. For more information about the House Page Program, click here.
